Kempinski Hotels organized a career day at their Grand Hotel Kempinski Genève property in Geneva and welcomed hospitality students from all over Switzerland. They offered different training programmes and entry-level positions to potential students.
Eleven students from César Ritz Colleges participated in the day that included a tour of property and interviews with recruiters representing Kempinski hotels from around the world. The students also met César Ritz alumni who currently work for Kempinski including Duncan O’Rouke, chief operating officer for Kempinski Hotels; Janna Louisa Henatsch, a management trainee at the Grand Hotel Kempinski Genève; and Ganna Stelmashenko, a trainee in the distribution and central systems department at the corporate office.
Juan Zamora from El Salvador was one of the students from César Ritz Colleges who took the opportunity to participate in the career day; Juan was very interested to gain more experience in the food and beverage department in a luxury hotel and found what Kempinski offers very interesting telling us that, "Kempinski is all about luxury and European flair, and I love to work in this kind of environment."
Juan learnt that, "It is important to be well prepared for an interview, you need to know your strengths and weaknesses, and be self-confident". He also mentioned, "By the time you have reached your last year at César Ritz Colleges, you have already received a lot of support and are ready for any kind of interview."
