The 48th César Ritz Colleges Ceremony of Awards took place on the 23 March 2012 and for the first time since 2008, it was held in Le Bouveret.
It was to the sound of the alphorn that graduating students entered the Townhall in St-Gingolph. Awaiting their arrival were, the school’s management team, academic partners, local authorities and of course proud parents and friends! Students were also honored by the presence of the founder of César Ritz Colleges, Dr Wolfgang Petri. Eighty-seven students graduated at this bi-annual event and there were a total of 210 guests. The traditional opening address was given by Dr Eric Spangenberg, Dean of Washington State University, who gave all graduates "their cheapest graduation present": one US penny!
A sumptuous buffet, prepared by the Culinary Institute students, was awaiting the graduates and guests. The buffet featured traditional Swiss products, including the ever-popular "Raclette", but also international specialties and delicious desserts! Everyone enjoyed the new facilities of the Bouveret Campus and as it was a beautiful spring evening, the fabulous view across Lake Geneva from the terrace in front of Lakeview Restaurant.
After a great dinner, graduating students from Brig returned to enjoy the rest of their night at Chaos student bar, where a special party was organized in their honor.
Congratulations to all the students! Our next graduation ceremony will be held, for the first time in Lucerne, in September 2012.
