1. STUDENT SERVICES
Welcome to the University Centre «César Ritz» Student Services!
Brig offers many indoor and outdoor activities so students may become involved in extracurricular activities once their classroom requirements are satisfied. Working in conjunction with the elected Student Committee, the Student Services Department aims to enrich the overall learning experience of those attending University Centre «César Ritz». Student services: Extra-curricular Activities and Sports.
Skiing
There are numerous world class ski resorts (Saas Fee, Zermatt, Crans Montanna, Verbier) that are accessible by public transportation, and many more resorts that provide a fantastic ski experience. Summer skiing is very popular, so the real ski enthusiasts can quench their desire to ski 12 months a year. Instruction is also provided by the present students of the college.
Sports
The college participates in inter-college sport meets in the spring and summer terms.The town of Brig is well equipped with sporting facilities like swimming pools, basketball courts, football fields, tennis courts, squash courts and fitness centres. Brig also has an American Football team, that plays in the Swiss American Football League.
Hiking and Outdoor Events
The Student Services arranges for occasional barbecues and hiking trips. The mountain region is perfect and beautiful for such adventures.
Theater Club
Twice a year, the college theater club produces and stages its home production. It is open to the local community and is very popular with the student body.
Excursions and trips
There are many beautiful cities throughout Switzerland that should be visited while you are studying at UCCR.Trips are also organized to Florence (arts), as well as the wine growing regions of Switzerland . Throughout their period of study students are given the opportunity to actively develop their professional competence through excursions to hotels, restaurants, breweries, wineries, suppliers, trade-shows and food-manufacturing facilities.
2. STUDENT COMMITTEE
The Student Government (Student Committee) is composed of five to nine elected students representative of the various programmes, cultures and in-takes. The committee is composed of a President and a Vice-President, an Entertainment Manager, a Public Relations Manager and a Residence Manager. There is also a sub-committee for the Year Book. The Student Committee is elected at the beginning of each term. Only students in good academic standing can be nominated. The Committee submits a plan of activities, a financial statement and meeting minutes to the Head of Student Services and the School Director at the end of each semester.

The committee is run by students, who are elected by students.

The committee organizes elections before the end of each trimester to ensure continuity throughout the whole year, year after year.
What
The student committee represents the student body, organizes and implements activities, outings, sports and ideas proposed from other students. We structure the fun and entertainment, with the goal of making it accessible to the entire student body of UCCR.
Why
Our main purpose of being is to improve student life at UCCR, from a non-academic point of view. Spending time in class, and studying to achieve high results are not the only learning possibilities at a school such as UCCR. There are so many different cultures within such a small environment that make our experience here a great opportunity to learn from one another. The student committee helps students to realize this by creating activities which will bring people from different cultures together, and have fun at the same time.
